Working as an accountant with small business at Burleigh on the Gold Coast, I believe this is the most important skill often overlooked or underestimated in the modern business world.

It is evident that we have more devices to make communications easier:- laptops, mobile phones, tablets etc but I now find people still can’t seem to communicate properly.

This is a skill I have gained and perfected over many years of business experience and I feel it is the number one role in a modern business for to it be successful.

Are you tired of the many times you engaged a professional, contractor or service person and you’ve had to leave a voicemail message or email and they haven’t contacted you back within a reasonable time frame, if at all?

How does that make you feel?

Disappointed, angry, disillusioned, perhaps a developing lack of confidence in that person you’re trying to deal with?

This is a major problem all people have to deal with in Australia and globally because it seems now that we’re so connected, we fail badly in the actual performance and completion of communication.

At Burleigh Accounting, I have a simple rule when it comes to communication and that is to allow a 24-hour period with which to respond or to make the communication you need to.

That’s why I’ve noted on my website that I’m proactive, dedicated and communicative.

That is a lot of skills for one person to achieve but I do and I know I do it well because my clients tell me that.

When you communicate well with you with your client, patient, customer (current or new) they will always reward you by being involved with you on a long-term basis.

People respect a good communicator.

It should never be underestimated as being the number one rule in business.

You may think you are the best salesman in the world but if you can’t communicate then you won’t be able to sell anything.

Remember that simple step 24 hours to reply if you miss the call/email.
